Property
The HLB value of cetrimonium bromide is 15.8, which belongs to cationic surfactant.
It has good surface activity, stability, bactericidal and biodegradability. It is stable in strong acid and alkali, Heat and light resistance.
It has good coordination with non-ionic and zwitterionic surfactants, and has a good emulsification effect on various oils.
It is less irritating to the skin and mucous membranes, and has a slight degreasing effect.
It is a cationic detergent, widely used In wetting, sterilization, antistatic, decontamination, solubilization and so on.
Application
Cetrimonium bromide is used as an oral antiseptic in toothpaste.
Cetrimonium bromide is used as a bactericide, softener, emulsifier and antistatic agent in cosmetics.
When cetrimonium bromide is used in shampoos and conditioners, it can be adsorbed on the surface of the hair to form a monomolecular film, which makes the hair fluffy, soft and gives the hair a natural luster.
Since the skin, hair and bacteria are all negatively charged, they can be firmly adsorbed to the cationic active groups to achieve moisturizing, conditioning, antiseptic and antistatic effects.
The maximum allowable content in cosmetics is 0.1%, and the deodorant is 0.05% to 0.1%.
